A video of a cold but very sunny November day spent kayak fishing in the Fal Estuary, Cornwall for a variety of species.  Recommended to be viewed in HD.

  1. A great video and some nice fish.

I think I saw you on Saturday afternoon. I was in an orange kayak fishing two rods drifting along the deep channel a short way upstream from you along the line of the prawn pot strings. Had a gurnard and some big mackerel but no whiting this time. If I see you again I will paddle over and say hello.

    regards

  2. Hi Mark

Thank you for your comment. I did not see you however, my wife was on the beach, and she said she saw a kayak fishing. Feel free to come over next time we are out there at the same time. It certainly was a great day to be out.

  4. Hi Rob. Good to finally meet you in person on the water on Sunday 1st December. Another excellent day for kayak fishing and some stonking great mackerel. They are superb fish and great eating. Nice also to catch some herring which went down well for breakfast the next day. The herring had hard and soft roe so not sure if they enter the estuary to spawn ? The mackerel were all full of small sprats. Also nice to catch a decent whiting. Just now need to find out where the cod are in the deep channel and we are sorted. See you out on the water again sometime.

    1. Hi Mark. Glad you managed to get a Whiting. The Herring are there all year round but more abundant this time of year and as you saw, at the moment they are full of roe. No reason why Cod would not be there but probably like most of Cornwall inshore it depends on the year. As you know two or three years ago we were blessed with an abundance of inshore Cod. See you out there some time again over the winter.
